KULARTS presents Agos Rhythms: Spring 2024 Dance and Rondalla Recital as a part of KULARTS’ Agos Youth Program, a youth dance performance of various Philippine folkloric dances with Rondalla music accompaniment.
Each season, Agos teaching artists and students address the history of colonization, immigration, cultural and racial equity issues impacting the Pilipino youth and their families. By intertwining art and political education, the students look holistically at ideas around healing and belonging, informed by traditional practice, but within the context of the Bay Area’s diasporic Pilipino community.
